Katy Perry had a big night at the 2011 American Music Awards! After finishing a live acoustic performance of her new hit “The One That Got Away,” Katy was awarded an AMA for Special Achievement. Katy Perry has made history as the first female artist in Pop Music to have five #1 hit songs from a single album!

SPRINT NEW ARTIST OF THE YEAR – Hot Chelle Rae

Hot Chelle Rae had a great night at the 2011 American Music Awards! The band capped off a night where they performed two hit songs on the AMAs Red Carpet by taking home the Sprint New Artist of the Year Award!

2011 American Music Awards Nominees!

We’re just one month and some weeks, away from the 2011 American Music Awards, and earlier today (October 11) the nominees were announced.

Nicki Minaj and Pitbull were in the house at the JW Marriott Los Angeles at LA Live to read the list of potential winners to be voted on by the public.

Those who top the list of nominees were big names in music such as Adele (leading the pack with 4), as well as Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Kanye West and Beyonce while Katy Perry and Pitbull have been confirmed as performers.

Our favorite musicians will compete in categories of Pop/Rock, Country, Rap/Hip-Hop, Soul/R&B, Alternative, Adult Contemporary, Latin, Contemporary Inspirational, and Soundtracks when the American Music Awards take place on November 20th at 8:00pm ET on ABC.
